All thanks to mother. I know that’s how she wants this story to start. ๐ She did the research – she found out about the fact that there were dinner cruises offered on the Thames. She even researched the different boats to make sure we got the one with the large glass windows and not the one that was solid-sided with portholes to lookout.
A great way to spend an evening after running around all over London. Their dock was a pretty easy walk from where we were staying near the Covent Garden area. We chose Bateaux London as our cruise hosts and they depart from a pier near the Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges. Just south of the Waterloo Bridge.
The staff did a great job of making the boat fairly easy to move around. Departing before sunset gave you the best of the sunset views as we set sail along with the amazing evening views as the cruise progressed. The lights along the river in the evenings on the bridges and buildings make this an amazing experience.
The food was well done also. Sometimes you expect an experience at the expense of the food. Maybe you plan an amazing dinner but you don’t get the great view. The dining was also well done and the food matched the scenery. Definitely a great way to see some sites, enjoy the Thames, and relax after a busy day sightseeing! ๐
